Length	A beautiful, large hummingbird, measuring 11.0-12.7 cm (4.3"-5.0") in length
Range	Can be found in southwest Colombia and northwest Ecuador
Characteristics and Identification	Identified by its black hood and iridescent purple-blue body. Has green on the coverts and large white patches in the outer rectrices. The IUCN has designated the Sword-billed as being of Least Concern.
