Range
Numerous in Arizona and New Mexico. Scarcer in West Texas. Also found in Mexico; in the state of Sonora, Mexico, it is the most common hummingbird.
Characteristics and Identification
Red-orange bill, blue-green chin and throat. Male is dark green above and below, with white undertail coverts, blue gorget. Female is duller above, gray below.
