Range
Numerous near canyon streams in Arizona, New Mexico and Texas, with the northern limit of its U.S. range being southeastern Arizona. It can also be found in the northwestern Mexican states of Sonora, Chihuahua, and Durango.
Characteristics and Identification
Largest hummingbird in North America. Only adult male hummingbird with very broad white tip on its long black tail. Double white line on the face. Blue throat on the male, gray throat on the female.
