Some events listed below have dates that are still to be announced (TBA). Updates will be posted as announcements are made by event organizers.

Hummingbird Day - Santa Cruz Arboretum

Hummingbird Day is the central coast’s premier family-oriented educational event celebrating one of nature’s vibrant aerial acrobats, the Hummingbird.

Hummingbirds just can’t resist the temptation of such a plentiful supply of nectar at the Arboretum. During the event, nature lovers of all ages will see and learn about these amazing birds and the gardens that host and support them. Guests will have plenty of opportunities to watch and hear hummingbird courtship shenanigans as well as participate in a variety of activities focused on these amazing creatures.

Alaska Hummingbird Festival

This is a month-long celebration of the hummingbirds coming back to Alaska. Migratory birds from Central and South America return to the southern panhandle of Alaska. The male Rufous Hummingbirds begin arriving Ketchikan in mid-March and are seen at feeders and flowers throughout Ketchikan by mid-April.

Festival events include guided bird hikes, art shows, and activities for children.

Hummingbird Special

Family-friendly, nature-themed celebration with hummingbird banding by experts, garden tours, and a station called “Hummingbird Haven,” featuring make and take crafts, concluded with a free concert by Still on the Hill. The hummingbird special is designed to enhance your enjoyment of hummingbirds and educate about pollinator importance. Free admission.

Rudeen Ranch Hummingbird Roundup

This annual banding event has been held since 2003. Five species of hummingbirds have been identified at the Rudeen Ranch. Calliope hummingbirds are the most common species found there. Banding locations change from year to year; check the location page on the website one month before this year's event.

Indiana Audubon Hummingbird Migration Celebration

The Indiana Audubon Hummingbird Migration Celebration is a festival about the Ruby-throated Hummingbird. Multiple sponsors and partners provide an opportunity for all to learn about these amazing little birds, how to attract them, and how to keep them coming year after year. Activities include hummingbird banding demonstrations to view hummingbirds up close, guided nature walks, a native plant sale, programs about birds and other pollinators, kid’s activities, vendor booths, live music, and more.

Hummingbird Festival and Nature Celebration

This celebration of nature puts the spotlight on the hummingbirds and other pollinators. See the newly designed pollinator garden – a sanctuary for birds and butterflies. Enjoy presentations, bird viewing, and many local artisans and vendors selling garden and nature-related items and food. Sign up to watch as volunteers help Thorn Creek Audubon Society and Lincoln Land Association staff capture and band hummingbirds. You can also adopt a hummingbird through the Lincoln Land Association of Bird Banders.

2018 Feliciana Hummingbird Celebration

The Feliciana Hummingbird Celebration promotes the unique breeding habitat found in the St. Francisville area. The event offers an opportunity to observe hummingbirds up close as they are banded at two private homes in the St. Francisville area on Saturday.

Hummingbird biologists Linda Beall and Nancy Newfield will capture and band birds at two private gardens in the St. Francisville area. Visitors will have the opportunity to observe hummingbirds up close as they are weighed and measured. In addition, vendors will be at both homes with hummingbird-attractive plants available for sale.

7th Annual Diamondhead Hummingbird Festival

Since 2012, the Festival has grown and continues to grow each year with new vendors, a variety of speakers and presentations, visitors from around the South, and most importantly ... hummingbirds! Each year, the hummingbirds come back with multiplied numbers!

The festival provides exciting experiences including live music, food, door prizes, lots of vendors. It also allows visitors to witness the banding of multiple birds, and learn about this important hummingbird process.

Annual Hummingbird Festival & Pollination Celebration

Sugar Grove Nature Center

All ages are encouraged to learn about hummingbirds and other pollinators from experts during programs, guided hikes, and garden tours. Learn about native landscaping, see a bee hive up-close, sample honey, and learn from members of the Illinois State University Beekeeping Club! Children will especially enjoy watching puppet shows, making crafts, and overcoming obstacles in a life-sized game of migration. Also featured will be a program and discussion on hummingbird trapping, banding and releasing.
